We're seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing business developing cutting-edge industrial technology for customers worldwide.

This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated electrical systems that combine automation, precision engineering, and advanced manufacturing. You'll be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

About You:

The Opportunity

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of electrical systems used within complex machinery and equipment. Working alongside mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams, you will help deliver reliable, compliant, and high-performance solutions that make a real impact.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & Development

  • Design electrical systems including control panels, power distribution, motor control circuits, and machine interfaces
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings using CAD software
  • Select and specify electrical components including drives, sensors, relays, power supplies, and control devices
  • Support prototype builds and provide technical guidance throughout manufacture and assembly

Testing & Integration

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into complete machine designs
  • Carry out testing, commissioning, fault-finding, and validation activities
  • Investigate and resolve electrical issues to improve system reliability and performance
  • Support machine development from concept through to production release

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards, including CE and IEC requirements
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, schematics, bills of materials, and testing procedures
  • Support validation, quality, and continuous improvement activities

About YouEssential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an Electrical Design Engineer position
  • Experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings using electrical CAD software
  • Knowledge of control systems, motor drives, PLC integration, and industrial electrical systems
  • Understanding of industrial communication networks and protocols
  • Familiarity with machinery safety standards and electrical compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within cross-functional teams

Desirable Experience

  • Experience designing electrical systems for industrial machinery, automation equipment, or manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to commissioning, testing, and machine development projects
