About The Role

We are seeking a creative and ambitious Civil Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy team in Gloucester. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-quality commercial and residential projects while developing your technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will become part of an experienced Civil and Structural Engineering team, delivering innovative engineering solutions across a variety of sectors. You will have the opportunity to work on projects including new-build developments, refurbishments and extensions, collaborating with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Design drainage, infrastructure, highways and earthworks solutions across a broad range of developments.

Work on projects across sectors including industrial, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare and leisure.

Prepare engineering drawings from initial concept through to construction stage.

Develop drainage strategies, service strategies and infrastructure designs.

Prepare Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements and technical reports.

Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) from concept through to detailed design and implementation.

Support highway and drainage approval processes, including Section 278, Section 38, Section 104 and Section 185 agreements.

Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors and other project stakeholders.

Carry out site visits, feasibility assessments and technical reviews.

Provide technical support, guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Assist with report writing and delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

About You:

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer who is keen to develop their career within a forward-thinking engineering consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working within a civil engineering consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure design, drainage, highways and earthworks.
  • Experience delivering civil engineering designs from concept through to construction.
  • Understanding of Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and SuDS design.
  • Experience working on residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
  • Knowledge of highway and drainage agreements including Section 278, Section 38 and Section 104.
  • Ability to produce clear technical drawings and reports.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and project teams.
  • A proactive approach with a desire to develop professionally.

Experience with relevant civil engineering design software would be advantageous.
