About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager – Pressure Vessels to join a specialist engineering business based in Newton-le-Willows, offering a hybrid working arrangement.

This is a key technical leadership position for an experienced pressure vessel engineer who is looking to take ownership of engineering activities, support project delivery, and lead a team of engineers.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in pressure equipment design and calculations, with strong knowledge of industry standards including PD5500, ASME Section VIII Division 1 & 2, and EN13445.

You will oversee the delivery of pressure vessel design projects from concept through to manufacture, ensuring all engineering solutions meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and quality expectations.

Additional Information:

Desirable experience:

  • FEA experience, ideally using ANSYS.
  • Experience with pressure vessel analysis software such as PV Elite, Compress, or similar.
  • Background within sectors such as oil & gas, energy, nuclear, hydrogen, process engineering, or specialist manufacturing.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring engineers.

  • Salary circa £60,000, with flexibility for exceptional candidates depending on experience and technical capability.
