About the Role:

Pay: £65,420.00-£70,000.00 per year

Job Description:

Design Engineer
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 (DOE)
Contract: Permanent

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a specialist team working on legacy aerospace projects across Aero-Structures, Aero-Engines, and Systems. You will be part of a unique environment dedicated to the restoration and preservation of historic aircraft from the golden age of flight through to the Second World War.

This role offers the rare chance to contribute directly to the continued airworthiness of the UK’s last remaining warbird fleet, ensuring these iconic aircraft remain operational for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects within a CAA Approved Design Organisation
  • Develop and deliver complete, approved design solutions
  • Conduct compliance verification of design artefacts
  • Create CAD models and detailed engineering drawings
  • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members

About You:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven aviation/aerospace design experience
  • Significant experience as a Design Engineer, ideally with civil and/or military aviation projects
  • Knowledge of Civil & Military Aviation regulations (desirable)
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and design software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with a strong team ethic
  • Understanding of business management principles (advantageous)
