About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a forward-thinking structural engineering consultancy working on a diverse range of innovative, design-led projects across London.

This is an opportunity to work on technically interesting and architecturally ambitious schemes, ranging from major building projects to bespoke structures and one-off engineering challenges.

Projects may include:

  • Sports and leisure structures.
  • Vertical extensions to existing buildings.
  • New-build community and public buildings.
  • Sensitive alterations to listed and historic buildings.
  • High-end residential developments.
  • Temporary event structures and stages.
  • Bespoke staircases and architectural installations.
  • Unique structural and artistic engineering projects.

The role will involve developing structural designs from concept through to delivery, working closely with architects, clients and project teams to create efficient, practical and innovative solutions.

Alongside the technical design responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for project and team management, helping coordinate projects, manage workloads and support the successful delivery of work.

About You:

About The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • At least 6 years' experience working as a Structural Engineer within the UK.
  • A BEng or equivalent degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • An IStructE-accredited degree is preferred.
  • Experience working on a range of building structures and technically challenging projects.
  • Strong technical design and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with structural engineering software such as Tekla Structural Designer.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with clients, architects and other project stakeholders.
  • A genuine interest in innovative, sustainable and design-led engineering.
  • The ability to manage projects, coordinate workloads and contribute to team development.

Chartered status, or a clear intention to work towards chartership within the next one to two years, would be highly desirable.

Previous experience in project or team management would be advantageous, although candidates with the right technical background and the ambition to develop these skills will also be considered.

Additional Information

Salary: £60,000 per annum.

Location: London, with hybrid working available.

Working pattern: Three days per week in the office, with the remaining days working from home.

Flexible working hours are available, with the option to work either 9:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm.
